The Arbequina variety is one of the most widespread olive varieties in Spain. At just a few hundred years old, it is one of the younger varieties and is known for its countless small fruits with a wonderfully high oil content.
We also like to call it the “Grüner Veltliner” among olives because, on the one hand, it cannot be described as a rarity and is a hardy classic that should not be missing in any garden.
North of Los Angeles, California, there is a ranch that cultivates 285,000 trees of this variety and wins several awards every year for its excellent oil.
Self-pollinating also makes it easy for Arbequina to plant out.
